November 4, 2006 -- Roland
and Scottie's trip back to Brad and Jan Poulter's farm in Illinois
yielded this fine buck, despite challenging weather conditions
throughout the week. Roland found
his Darton Tempest's performance to be superb, taking this big guy with
his first arrow. Congratulations, Roland, on a great buck!
October 26, 2006 -- Shawn
puts his signature spine shot on another beautiful buck! After calling
him in with an Extreme Dimensions Phantom Call, Shawn dropped this
guy dead in his tracks while Joel caught all the action on video.
The Darton
bows, once again, prove lethal. This buck was the second kill of
the evening for Shawn and his new Tempest (you'll have to watch
the video to see the first one). Way to make it happen,
Shawn!
October 21, 2006 -- The
success continues! Rob filmed while Angela took this little buck
with the same Darton Marauder that John Field used on
his moose -- with a few major adjustments, of course. To say the
least, we're very impressed with the versitility and
shootability of these Darton bows. This was Angela's
first deer ever and the first animal that she's taken with a bow.
And while he may not make "the book," he'll always be
a trophy in her eyes! Robert, of course, was also delighted
(and glad to have his camera girl back)!
October 18, 2006 -- Bill
and Shawn took an afternoon off from deer hunting to take in a little
fall turkey action. As you can see, the plan came together like
clockwork. Bill made short work of this nice Tom with his Darton
Marauder and Muzzy broadheads while Shawn filmed. Great shooting, Bill! Now, if only a big one with antlers will step out!
October 10, 2006 -- What
a brute!! Using a new Darton Marauder and Muzzy broadheads, John
Field took this absolutely tremendous moose during the second week of Maine's
moose season! What an adventure! Shawn's legs got a real
workout chasing John and this magnificent beast through the Maine
timber but the footage is unbelievable! Way to go, Shawn,
and congratulations, John, on the hunt and trophy of a lifetime!
October 2, 2006 -- Zach's
making it look easy! Less than a week after taking his moose, and
after only 45 minutes into his deer hunting season, 14 year-old Zach
Monroe took his first ever deer with a bow. Zach dropped a nice
127 lb. doe right in her tracks using a Darton Marauder and Muzzy
broadheads. There'll be no living with him now! Dad,
Robert, is just hoping that now that Zach's tagged out, he can finally
get some hunting of his own in!
September 29, 2006 -- Not
to be outdone, the Barnes boys (11 year-old Gauge and grandfather,
Bill), took a beautiful cow moose 3 days after Zach got his bull.
So, after nearly a week at moose camp, the happy -- but weary --
Barnes and Monroes headed south with their truck beds full of
meat and cabs, as always, full of "bull."
September 26, 2006 -- First
success of the season! After much pre-season scouting and several
close encounters, 14 year-old Zach Monroe made a perfect heart shot on
a great young bull moose on the second day of Maine's moose
season with an MDM muzzleloader at 143 yards. Great shot
Zach!!
September, 2006 -- The
NTO Team is currently in hot pursuit of Maine black bears. While
the team has seen quite a few, so far the only casualty has been
Shawn's blind which took quite a beating from a big bruin (luckily, not
while Shawn was in it)!
August 26, 2006 -- The
1st Annual, NTO Lobsta-Pool-ooza was a huge success! The lobster
and fixings were cooked to perfection (despite the heckling Joel
took regarding his abilities as a chef) and a good time was had by all. It was an afternoon and evening
of good food, good drink, larger-than-life hunting stories and, of
course, videos. Thanks, Laney and Shawn, for being such great
hosts. Can't wait until next year!
August, 2006 -- The NTO Team is proud to announce the addition of Darton Archery and Pete Rickard's to its list of sponsors.
